Graeme Smith, conceptual designer at Metris, had the opening quote in Beautiful Kitchen's design and planning feature, 'If the space is modest, avoid filling it with lots of cabinets, as this will make the room feel hemmed in. Instead, reduce the number of wall units and opt for some open shelving. If you have the luxury of a large room, consider curved cabinetry that wraps around the architecture for a flowing design'.
