Overview
Homeowners Lou and Adrian knew they wanted a luxury kitchen which was curved and contemporary, so they were instantly smitten when they saw a magazine advert for Metris - just as they were with the very first bespoke design proposed by Metris retailer Bassett Homes in Southampton.
The setting for the new kitchen
Lou and Adrian live with their children in a detached 1980s family home in Winchester, Hampshire. The kitchen had been small and dark, with a rather old-fashioned design and cabinets. As part of the transformation, the kitchen was liberated and enlightened when the wall between the kitchen and dining room was removed and a window enlarged.
Key kitchen design features
The new Metris Wave Curve kitchen design creates points of excitement and interest with a range of textures and finishes including wood veneer, shiny chrome and glass—all part of a monochrome theme with bright splashes of vibrant orange. Curved base units (in Zebrano) add that organic look and feel, as do the S-shaped island and interlocking teardrop-shaped breakfast bar.
