Overview
This remarkable kitchen represents the fulfilment of a promise made to Rachael by her husband Dave 10 years earlier—to buy a new kitchen when their youngest daughter started school. After visiting numerous showrooms without success Dave and Rachael turned to the internet, and came across Metris. They knew they'd found their kitchen.

The setting for the new kitchen
This large, modern detached house in Cheshire features a dining area which flows from the kitchen area towards big windows looking onto the garden. The whole space combines to form an airy sunroom.

Key kitchen design features
The couple picked Metris' Wave Curve island design, but they and their designer spent a month working out just the right bespoke shape and configuration to emphasise that flow from the kitchen area through to the dining area. They decided on Gloss Sand for their cabinets, set within a wenge surround and wenge again for the island.
