Overview
The owners of this house on the outskirts of York have cleverly used Metris Rich Mix to create a striking black-and-white contemporary kitchen which does not overwhelm the space in which it sits.
The setting for the new kitchen
This detached house had a small kitchen which was only accessed from the side, from a narrow passageway, which meant the owners hardly used the garden. A new kitchen extension, with bi-folding doors opening into the garden, soon changed all that!
Key kitchen design features
The new, much larger kitchen adopts Metris’ Rich Mix design concept. Monochromatic cabinets and furnishings are lifted by splashes of colour in the worktops and the garden, with bi-folding doors creating a huge opening which dispels the divide between outside and in.
