Fitted Curve in a Victorian terrace, Milton Keynes

Project Background

The brief

The client has a Victorian end-of-terrace property which, for years, had a very small, dark galley kitchen. They now wanted to create something really contemporary while retaining some of the kitchen’s original features. A 5mx5m extension had been completed to ensure that the clients could achieve just what they wanted.

The Metris solution

Lima Kitchens proposed dark tones below the worksurfaces and lighter shades above, drawing attention to the roof lights and creating a brighter space. The colours also beautifully offset the room’s key features: exposed brick and a sash window which was once the exterior of the house. The fascias in Gloss Sand and Gloss Earth accentuate the architectural features of the room, while points of interest include stunning Bamboo worksurfaces and appliances at eye level (even the dishwasher!). Comfort and relaxation are part of the overall plan for this older couple, with two comfy chairs and a large TV screen.
